Friendly Report (CABJ - 1 JWC - 0) : Twelve Stitches for Goalkeeper Faiz Farhan

The recent win against JWC in a friendly match at Shah Alam Mini Stadium last Tuesday once again had Ahmed Khamis scoring a goal for CABJ assisted by none other than Affendi Amir.

A through ball from Affendi Amir followed by Ahmed’s loop ball passing JWC goalkeeper had CABJ leading the game with CABJ 1 – JWC - 0

As it was an early game CABJ's defence fought hard to protect the post together with countless attacks their strikers that day. Our goalkeeper Faiz Farhan endured 12 stitches after colliding with midfielder Imran Mazli during the friendly game against JWC last Tuesday. During the second half, after the substitution of goalkeeper Wan Ajmal, Faiz Farhan protected the post for 15 minutes before the incident happened. Bleeding badly, he was then rushed straight to KPJ Hospital for further treatment.

Though the incident shocked many in the field, with heavy heart the team carried on with the match.

During the last minute of the game had Affendi Amir passed the ball to Azrul Raimie followed by a sprint for a goal after realizing JWC’s goal keeper was out of his goal post. However, Azrul Raimie was already in an offside position and the goal was called by the linesman.

Bukit Jelutong Unite : CABJ vs Sime Darby (U23)

Last weekend, Sime Darby’s Training ground at Bukit Jelutong opened its gate giving way to CABJ for a friendly match against Sime Darby FC (U23).

Not discouraged by the rainy season, Gliders were seen at the field as early a 3:30pm eager to step its foot for a match that they have been waiting for the longest time.

Neighbours, friends and supporters of CABJ were seen flooding the field at Jalan Kubah with umbrellas to watch the game and to also get the feel of the field that has been a barrier from the community for nearly 1 year. BJRA’s president Mr Fhamy and Secretary Mr Razlan Isa was also seen at the field watching the game.

Proud parents of Azrul Raimie and Ruffie
CABJ stressed that they have nothing to prove from this friendly game but to gain exposure and experience playing with a well established team.

Through the drizzling rain, the game started off in a fast pace having CABJ making the first attempt of attack. Though Sime Darby scored two goals first in the first half, CABJ’s striker Zurin Wayne managed to cut through the defence and scored CABJ’s first goal. Sime Darby then scored another goal leading the game at CABJ – 1 SDFC – 4 during the first half.

Come second half, many would say CABJ’s defends and mid fielders played a more controllable role maintaining the score to 4-1 nearly throughout the whole second half. A great teamwork led to a goal as the final touch made by Ikram Al Rashid our newest addition Agus Raqib, a good run in and scored . Final score was CABJ – 2 SDFC – 5.

After the game, the night ended with dinner together with some of the SDFC players whilst watching the Manchester Vs Arsenal game at food station.

CABJ would like to thank all who came to support us on that wonderful day and though it was our first game playing in the gated field, we’d really hope to have weekly game such as this, bridging the community together through the beautiful game of football. Perhaps one day, with hot dogs, sodas and chips.

Munro League : CABJ Scored a Frustrating End for FC Jelong

Last Saturday marked another win for CABJ as they made it through for the quarterfinals in the Munro knockout league leaving FC Jelong a frustrating end. The game had it led by FC Jelong holding on its score CABJ- 0 FC JELONG – 1 till the last minute of the game, but unfortunately ended not as what they’d expected.

CABJ stayed calm when FC Jelong scored their first goal 3 minutes in the first half of the game. Though it was frustrating to watch CABJ struggled to tie the game, havng 58% of possession in the first half, hope was bright when  FC Jelong’s defender was raised a red card which then led CABJ to a penalty kick.

Unfortunately, though the shot was on target  the penalty taken by Ameer Aizat was unsuccessful as FC Jelong’s goalkeeper managed to block the ball and although it slipped from his hands and went back to Ameer Aizat, his shot then went too high above the goal post.

“ I was confident at first but as soon as the whistle blew I panicked” said Ameer Aizat

Second half was intense. Though it gave an advantage to CABJ playing against  10 men from FC Jelong, the strategy from Jelong to guard the goal post made it impossible for CABJ to score.
Nearly all of the players from FC Jelong stayed half field manning the post. Though it seemed hopeless for CABJ to score, 1 minute before the final whistle blew; Azrul Raimie was tackled during an attack which then gave CABJ another deserving penalty.

Knowing that was CABJ’s only shot to tie the game, fans and players were confident that they won’t be leaving Munro League early just yet. Penalty taken by Ruffie Abdul Aziz, tied the game to CABJ – 1 FCJelong – 1.  Seconds after the game resumed the whistle blew, which then forced both teams to go through the penalty shootout as there should be only one winner to go through the next round for this league.

First penalty taken by Ikram Al Rashid hit the right post followed by FC Jelong’s failed attempt to lead the score. Second shot from CABJ was taken by Azrul Raimie leading the score to 1-0. FC Jelong’s second shot to score also failed which then left CABJ’s Ruffie Abdul Aziz to seal the deal. CABJ then won the 1st knockout round in the Munro League against FC Jelong with a final score CABJ – 2 FC Jelong – 0 in the penalty shoot-out.

Next game in the Munro League quarter final round, CABJ will be facing Southern FC on Saturday 15th Sept, 3:45 pm at Setia Alam Field (b)

Gliders Welcome New Coach, Muhammad Ruffie Abdul Aziz

After years of supporting from a far, home boy Muhammad Ruffie landed back to Malaysia from the UK volunteering as one of Club Atletico De Bukit Jelutong’s coach. Completing the in field addition of coaches together with CABJ’s Manager, Brian Nathan. Ruffie is set and ready to help out the team hopefully for more years to come.
Muhammad Ruffie was away when the club was in a midst of establishing as he was furthering his studies at University of Bedforshire graduating in Football Studies.

In the UK, Ruffie has been exposed in playing and coaching football and now with his comeback, we hope CABJ will be a great platform for him to expose gliders to what he have gained there.

CABJ on the other hand are delightful to finally have their own coach who to some, a familiar face to see. During the last 6 months after the retirement of coach Safrizal and especially during the Tune Talk Safee Sali League last 2 months, CABJ faced few hurdles in their training regime until a few gliders such as Azrul Raimie, Ungku Nazrin and Muizz Raof stepped up to temporary help out Manager Brian Nathan in the infield trainings. Though the hurdles occurred in many desperate ways and moments for CABJ to go through the cup championship, they still managed to bring home a medal being the Plate Champion of the Tune Talk Safee Sali League 2012

And as Ruffie’s arrival bring us joy and another add on in the Gliders family, it is also believed that with Brian Nathan working hand to hand with him, the ingredients of a better victory might  be waiting for CABJ soon enough.

“I have always been a glider at heart because being here when you guys started building the club made me feel like it is part of me when I was away. So finally being home, especially being a part of where the club is now makes me feel proud. I now can contribute to the club with what I have gained from playing and coaching in the UK and with that I hope that the team will get to higher ground not only on the field but off the field as well. I believe that those who are willing to learn and improve will succeed and that is what I want to do for CABJ!” said Ruffie earlier today.

Welcome back home Ruffie and Welcome again to the family.

CABJ LAHH - EID at Rumah Jagaan & Asuhan Raudhatul Ikhwan

It was a sunny afternoon last Saturday as Gliders were seen suited up with complete baju melayu attire and beautiful ladies in baju kurung and kebaya all set and ready for a visit to Raudhatul Ikhwan Orphan home at section 13 Shah Alam for a Hari Raya Celebration

Last year CABJ- LAHH (CABJ LEND A HELPING HAND) together with Masjid Bukit Jelutong visited the al Ikhlas old folks home for a gotong royong at Puchong but this year, with the kind help from our kind sponsors, CABJLAHH went a step higher in hosting our first visit to an orphan home at section 13 Shah Alam called Raudhatul Ikhwan Orphan home.

Arriving at about 2:30 pm Club Atletico de Bukit Jelutong members, players and families brought 30 pax of nicely packed goodie bags, duit raya and prepared an array of mouth watering spread of food in seek for a blessful Syawal this year together.

We were greeted with a welcome message and performance of nasyid from the orphans which then led to a short speech by our President  Zurin Adra giving thanks to the home in allowing CABJ to visit the home.

“ We try to do this annually and plan not to only do it during raya but perhaps with God’s will, on other festivals too including Christmas. We hope that this will go on for many years to come and hope there will be many more membes or non members who will come and join us in our future visits.” said Zurin

It was a casual gathering at the home as there we nothing else atmosphered the home but laughter till 5pm.

Tune Talk Safee Sali League : CABJ Brought Home its First Title

CABJ’s newest addition to the team Norrizal Wazir proud us with the final penalty kick that brought CABJ a victory in the Tune Talk Safee Sali League Plate Championship against Corleone FC last Sunday Night, with a final score of CABJ -1 Corleone – 1 (penalty kick of the 5-3 shootout) that made us all proud of the gliders bringing home The Plate Champion title.

“I’ve watched and hoped, many times when watching CABJ play, but this title means a lot to many not only the players but for the supporters too. We are proud of them!” CABJ’s non player member Hafizah Razi

Our striker who never let us down Firdaus Samsuddin scored the first goal during the first half when he beats Corleone's goal keeper leaving the goal post clear for a shoot. CABJ led the game with an early score of CABJ-1 Corleone – 0.

CABJ managed to hold Corleone back through out the 2nd half till Corleone FC scored during the 3rd half of the game when CABJ’s goalkeeper Wan Ajmal failed to catch the ball from a superb free kick by Corleone. Score was then CABJ – 1 Corleone – 1

CABJ strives for a goal during the tie during the third half and striker Ameer Aizat together with a Corleone player was raised with a red card leaving both teams with only 10 men on the field till the whistle blows ending the full time of the match which then brough to a penalty kick off.

When it was still the level after four penalty kicks from CABJ having goal keeper Faiz Farhan guarding the post and CABJ’s penalty takers Rahimi, Azrul Raimie, Ikram Al Rashid and Wildan, Corleone FC failed to equalize the fourth gosl leaving Norrizal Wazir to be the only one left for CABJ’s 1st title in the remarkable Plate Championship.

Through this journey of hope where the team craves for a title after a year of establishment, has played out with the intensity since the start of the plate round against Tanamera FC.

“We deserve this win. Our First medal of CABJ! Awesome GUYS! Man Of The Match goes to Walter Lee and Syed Shahril. None of this would have happened if it was not for Mr.Safrizal Mohd Said the inspiration for the team and also for me. Not to mention Shamil Yusof though we know you wish you could play yesterday but your presence was always there in the form of a shadow.” CABJ Coach/Manager Brian Nathan

Through the battles during Tune Talk Safee Sali league, CABJ would also like to congratulate the three managers who assisted Brian Nathan in the infield trainings and also during the matches, Muhammad Muizz Raof, Azrul Raimie and also Ungku Nazrin. Not forgetting the supporters who stayed with us from the first game against Mymanutd till a medal is finally worn on them.

"It is important that the team & the club do not take their eyes off the ball. It’s easier to reach the top but to maintain that position takes a whole lot more"  - Safrizal

Tune Talk Safee Sali League : The Road to the Finals

During the quarterfinals of the Tune Talk Safee Sali Leagues Plate Round, CABJ thrashed Tanamera FC with a final score of CABJ 5- 2. Scorers marking the goals were Affendi Amir, Ameer Aizat, Azrul Raimie, Ikram Al-Rashid followed by an own goal led CABJ to the semi finals facing Southern FC.

An now, CABJ marked its first road to the finals of the Tune Talk Safee Sali League (Plate Round) when they defeated team Southern FC last Sunday.

CABJ scored an early goal by Firdaus Samsudin followed by a second goal scored by Rahimi on a penalty advantage. Throughout the game CABJ held Southern FC back through the 3rd half till Southern FC scored a goal which led a final score of CAB 2- Southern FC – 1.

CABJ faced many dramatic paths throughout the Tune Talk Safee Sali League as they were struggling during the group matches against teams like MyManUtd FC and Rotikaya. From the group match, CABJ only manage to bring home one win which led them to the plate round.

Though CABJ struggled facing high numbers of injury in the team, Managers assisting Brian Nathan in the Tune Talk Safee Sali league, Ungku Nazrin, Azrul Raimie and Captain Mu’izz Muci hold them through the games in the Plate round and now, right to the finals.
This is CABJ’s first medal piece after a year of establishment and now the question is, will it be gold or a silver medal that our gliders will receive.

CABJ will be playing the Finals of the Tune Talk Safee Sali League Plate round against Corleone Team on Sunday 15th July 2012, 5pm at Stadium Majlis Perbandaran Selayang.

And with this we would humbly like to ask all to come in green or orange and to give support  to your only community football club in Bukit Jelutong, Club Atletico de Bukit Jelutong.

Good luck Gliders!

TUNE TALK SAFEE SALI LEAGUE : A Faded Hope, CABJ Not Qualified for the Cup Round

After too many defeats during the Tune Talk Safee Sali League, CABJ finally won a game against Team Arsenal Supporters Malaysia (TASM) in the second round of play with a final score of CABJ 2- TASM - 0. Goals were scored by Zurin Adra and Wildan. Some were seen relief to be back in the winning streak however as reality checked in, it is now a little too late to buck up.

A week after, CABJ faced Rotikaya on a fatigue state of players as the Gliders were seen arriving the field from a 2 day intense team building weekend at Cameron Highlands. Though there was no hope for CABJ to be in the quarterfinals, the play against Rotikaya seemed to be a fight without cause and the fighting spirit to win has faded to a state where it just got worst for the players to face. Final score was a dreadful CABJ 1- RTKY – 3.

Though chances of CABJ being in the quarterfinals has faded CABJ bounced back to finish the league and to prepare for the plate round of the league. Training is still ongoing every Tuesday and Thursday with hopes of great turnouts for those who hasnt given up with the team.

“Though lost is what you fear to face, get up, man up
and fix the phase

Tune Talk Safee Sali League has been a challenge for CABJ after making a reputation of being in the Semifinals in the Xelite League earlier this year. CABJ will be playing in the Plate round, similar as the Pre Season league last year where we made it to the quarter-finals.

Heads up Gliders, the war hasn’t ended as we have more games to win.

Tune Talk Safee Sali League : Strong Fighting Spirit Despite Playing with Ten Men

In the recent Tune Talk Safi Sali League against M ManUTD, CABJ drew the game with a final score of CABJ – 1 MyManutd – 1.

CABJ’s Defender, Syed Syahril was given a red card leaving the team to play with only 10 players in the field during the 3rd half of the match. Though the red card occurred at a shaky state of CABJ 1 MyManUTD - 1 , it didn’t break the spirit of CABJ who kept on attacking for goals but failed to prevail.

Though it was upsetting to see the team possibly being in the Plate instead of Cup level, we have to admit that the spirit to win during the recent game was outstanding.

During the first round against MyManutd, CABJ was defeated with a final score of 3 – 1 however seeing the draw in the scoreboard from the 2nd match recently, CABJ continued to strive to keep the spirit and have slightly improved in the field.

CABJ controlled 60% of the game against MyManUtd last Saturday especially with the extra effort of players such as Syamsul Hezri, Ikram al Rashid, Affendi Amir, Walter Lee and also Ameer Aizat.

The match remained a tie till the last min of the 2nd half where Mymanutd scored. During the 3rd half of the game Ameer Aizat, assited a goal by a shoot from the left side of the penalty box which then was headed by Muhammad Rahimi who equalized the game to CABJ -1 Mymanutd - 1

“From the match, we (managers) could see the spirit to win that you guys brought in you today . We were left behind with 1 – 0 then we manage to equalized the game after and best part was we never stopped trying. It’s ok if we are meant to be in the Plate this league; we could start again and keep trying till we win something. Something can be anything” Azrul Raimie Vice President cum Asst. Manager

CABJ's 2nd round of Tune Talk Safee Sali League this Saturday against Team Arsenal Supporters Malaysia.
