SETIA ALAM CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2014: CABJ vs FTC Southern

Final Score: CABJ 3 - 5 FTC Southern

Scorer: 1. Own Goal (Assist by Ameer Aizat)
            2. Khairol (Assist by Affendi)
            3. Affendi (Assist by Azrul Raimie)

MOTM: 1. Ameer Aizat

We are up against FTC Southern, one of the tough teams to beat as CABJ is looking to continue the winning streak in SACL. FTC Southern was Munro Cup and League champion for the 2014 season. CABJ last lost a match against FTC Southern was in the semi-final of Munro Cup. 2-1 was the final score and Southern continued to win the cup. It is a great team, 2 Cups and 1 League champion was enough to prove that they are a worthy and serious contender.

On to the match, the first half started off with both teams eager to score an early goal so that the team gets control of the game. Possession in the early half was fairly 50/50 but the first goal came from Ameer Aizat’s cross and was tapped into the net by Southern’s own defender. An own goal by FTC Southern that gave CABJ the lead. Southern didn't wait long as they get the equalizer 5 minutes after the own goal. A simple tap in as CABJ’s left back couldn’t stop Southern right winger to cross a low ball which was easily tapped in into the net. CABJ made a few changes as they brought in Affendi to play on the right wing. CABJ's second goal came from a long pass from Ruffie, that found Affendi near the penalty box who then passed the ball to Khairol who unleashed an unstoppable shot just outside the penalty box. Southern’s goalkeeper couldn’t do nothing to stop that shot which went straight into the net. First half finished with CABJ leads by 2 goals to 1.

Second half was vital as both teams were aiming for maximum points. Early in the second half, Southern was awarded a penalty after Fizal handled the ball inside the penalty box. His claimed of being pushed by Southern striker was ignored by the referee and Southern converted the penalty perfectly. Power and placing, no chance for CABJ’s goalkeeper Wan Ajmal to stop the shot. The score was 2-2 and CABJ are struggling to get back to their form. Not long after that, Southern got their third goal after they attacked from CABJ's left side and scored another tap in. Southern were in the lead by 3-2.

CABJ were shocked after letting the 2 goals easily. CABJ then pressed up high to pressure the opponent and to get their goal. The substitution of Rashyad played a big role in CABJ’s third goal. Rashyad quickly made an impact on the right side of the pitch to beat Southern's left back and crossed the ball straight to Azrul Raimie, who then shot the ball wide off the goal and only to discover that Affendi on the far post was the first to react to tap the ball into the net. Another equalizer in the game. CABJ’s pressing game and high defensive line proved to be their downfall as Southern noticed that opportunity and they did a long pass from behind. Southern did it twice and both were rewarded with goals.

The match ended with a 5-3 scoreline. After the defeat, CABJ will look to improve on their game and win the next match. Not a good start for the 2015 calendar but CABJ will definitely bounce back like they always do. A Special mention to Ameer Aizat as he performed brilliantly on his assigned position at right back. Even though he doesn't like to play at the back, he did very well to repel Southern's attack on the right side. Stay tuned for more.

SETIA ALAM CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2014: CABJ vs Subang FC

Final score: CABJ 2 - 1 Subang FC

Goalscorer: 1. Akif (assist by Dzul)
                   2. Ikram (assist by Akif)

MOTM: 1. Akif
              2. Dzul

CABJ's match against Subang FC is a much anticipated match this week. Both teams look to get 3 points to advance in the Setia Alam Champions League. 3 points means, the team will get the top 4 spot in order to advance to the next round.

Sunday afternoon in Setia Alam was fairly good as the rain stopped just before the match started. Heavy rain before the match had caused the pitch to cover with mud and water. Wet pitch and bad condition of the field doesn't stop CABJ’s spirit to collect 3 points.

First half of the match, CABJ controlled the game perfectly. We passed the ball around and waiting for the right moment to get through Subang FC’s defenders. Besides the possession, all of Subang FC’s attacks were superbly defended by our defensive backline. First goal didn't come that late as Akif scored a tap in in front of the goal. After an unsuccessful corner kick, the ball was perfectly presented to Dzul Rahim’s feet as he volleyed the ball that went straight to Akif to tap in the first goal. Keeper had no chance to stop his shot. CABJ kept the game going and maintained the same momentum. CABJ's second goal were rewarded not long after the first goal as a long pass from Akif met Ikram to brilliantly place the ball at the lower left goal. Subang FC’s goalkeeper came out early to block Ikram but he managed to beat the goalkeeper with his blistering pace and a very cool finish.

Second half of the match commenced, with both teams continued attacking from end to end respectively. With the wet pitch and both teams going all out, flying tackles coming in. It’s dangerous for players who didn't wear their protection gear like shin pad as they might get injured with all this tackles flying in. Luckily, no serious injuries occurred. It’s becoming more of a tense game as both teams run out of steam. Subang FC managed to get a goal after a mistake from our defenders to let Subang FC winger to run freely and scored the goal.  All in all CABJ defenders did brilliantly to overcome Subang FC’s attacks.

The match ended with a win to CABJ. 2-1 the final score. Both teams showed great sportsmanship spirit as what has happened on the pitch stays on the pitch. Superb display by the boys as everyone did excellently to overcome Subang FC’s attacking. Next game is against FTC Southern.
