Friendly Match: Ten Six FC 3-1 CABJ - Report

The Gliders were again denied another win on last Tuesday night. This time they were up against Ten Six Football Club, a Football Association of Selangor (FAS) league participant.

At the beginning at the first half, Ten Six FC fell numerous times to CABJ offside traps. CABJ's first chance to lead the game came when Ikram Al-Rashid's shot went wide. Another opportunity came when once again Ikram's shot was on target but it went straight to the goalkeeper. Not long after, Ten Six's forward managed to pass CABJ's defender but Hariz Badrulhisham did well to stop the shot. The Gliders' later had their first corner kick by Adi Wahyudi. It was received by Muizz Raof but the skipper could not convert it into a goal. An opening was created for Bukit Jelutong when Adi was fouled near the penalty box. Syed Mohd Shahril's free kick was thwarted by the goalkepeer. Affendi Amir then had a chance after a neat one-two pass with Azrul Raimie. The forward's shot was again foiled by the goalie. Ungku Nazrin Hakim also had an opportunity to score the opening goal but his shot went over the crossbar.

Going into the second half, the assistant manager, Brian Nathan substituted the whole team, leaving only Mohd Akif and Syed as centre backs. Kareem Adzman was put to the test early in the second half when he saved a free kick shot by the opponent's side. Ameer Aizat and Muhd Firdaus also had their chances but failed to convert their efforts into goals for CABJ. Although Kareem has excelled in goalkeeping, he was finally defeated when the opponent's left winger found a break through the Gliders' defenders and scored the opening goal of the match. Another defensive mistake by Ungku Muhd Zulhaidy gave the opponent a chance to counter attack when the right winger crossed the ball into the center of the penalty area before converting it into their second goal. Bukit jelutong's only goal of the night came when Ameer did not waste his second chance when he was able to receive a through ball from Raimie to make the scoreline at 2-1. Raimie had the opportunity to even the score received from Affendi at the edge of the penalty box. Alas, his shot went wide as the defenders closed ranks on him fairly quickly. The third goal for Ten Six FC came when another defensive error was made by the Gliders. The forward easily overtook CABJ's defenders before placing the ball into the back of net. Minutes before the final whistle, a corner kick was awarded for the Gliders. The corner kick by Raimie was received by Affendi who crossed it to Firdaus but the header was wide.
