LIGA MUNRO SETIA ALAM 2015: CABJ vs Platinum Blastz

Final score: CABJ 2 - 0 Platinum Blastz

Goalscorer: 1. Rashyad (Ikram Al-Rasyid)
                    2. Khairul (Azrul Raimie)

Man of the Match: Ameer Aizat

Matchweek 5 of Munro League 2015 witnessed a match between CABJ v Platinum Blastz. The match was held at New Camp, Bukit Damansara on Saturday, 9th May. Kick off time was 6:00 p.m.

Referring to our last match, CABJ was trying their best to gather back all of the injured players. Nonetheless, CABJ continued the match with few players missing. One of them was Affendi due to 2 matches banned after receiving a straight red card for the game against Sri Kenangan last time. Ahmed the striker was missing as well due to personal issue and also their tall figure at the back, Akif Sharif because of work duty. Apart from that, CABJ are welcoming back Dzul Rahim and Adly Saifullah from injuries.

First half of the match, both teams showed their full desire to win the match and seem to show great potential in their attacking play. Creating many scoring opportunities but most of them just gone bagging. After 10 minutes of the game, a changed side play by Azrul Raimie found Ikram Al-Rashid who then flicked the ball to Rashyad on the left side of the pitch. Rashyad did a simple cut in into the center and finished off with a knuckle shot just outside the box. The ball went straight into the net. Superb strike by CABJ's promising young talent. After the goal, CABJ looked to be more compose as well as controlling the game very well. Distributing the ball around and causing problems to the opponent. Another key factor for CABJ’s successful defending was the presence of Syamsul Hezri, who was returning back to the squad after being away for quite some time. Syamsul’s successful tackles helped CABJ to keep their clean sheet during first half.

Second half of the match saw CABJ kept on doing the same gameplay as first half. Containing the attack and getting ready for the counter. All of CABJ players were discipline and followed their role given by manager, Amin Helmy. CABJ managed to cut off all of Platinum Blastz’ attack and kept a clean sheet. Few minutes before the match ended, Mohd Khairil scored CABJ’s second goal. A cross from Azrul Raimie managed to deceived Platinum Blastz’ goalkeeper and defenders. Khairil scored a simple tap in after the opponent’s side-back was hit by his own goalkeeper. Also, not to forget the brilliance of Ameer Aizat playing at wing-back role. He defended very well to cut off opponent’s attack and helping out the attacking side. He almost scored a goal but unfortunately the ball went off target.

Match ended 2-0 to CABJ. A great win after two straight defeats. CABJ are looking to go back into winning form and getting solid 3 points to remain in the top half of Munro League table. CABJ will be facing Nossa on Matchweek 6. The game will be held on Saturday 16th May at Setia Alam Football Field at 3:30 p.m.

LIGA MUNRO SETIA ALAM 2015: CABJ vs Seri Kenangan

Final score: CABJ 1 - 2 Seri Kenangan

Scorer: Ruffie (penalty)

CABJ's third game in the league was against Sri Kenangan. A team that we are familiar with who were formerly known as Lantun FC.

The match was played on a beautiful Sunday evening at 3.30pm. Usually the weather during this time is hot and dry and it's quite hard for players to last the full 70 minutes in a game. Luckily, the weather was absolutely great with clear blue skies.

During the first half of the match, and with only 2 substitutes, CABJ started the half with a lot of confidence by distributing the ball causing problems for our opponents. First clear opportunity was presented to Affendi Amir, who shot the ball but went agonisingly wide. The opening goal of the match came against the run of play when CABJ didn’t managed to stop the opponents running man who then beat the offside-trap and Sri Kenangan drew first blood.

Nonetheless, CABJ managed to score the equalizer as Azrul Raimie's great run on the right, beating their defense line but was stopped by a harsh tackle from their left back inside the penalty box. A penalty was awarded and Ruffie duly converted the equalising spotkick perfectly just before the stroke of halftime.

CABJ were looking to get an early goal. Attack after attack, CABJ attackers went all-out but the Sri Kenangan back line defended well. Against the run of play again that caught our defenders off-guard a Sri Kenangan striker managed to get into the swix-yard box but was brought down by Syed Sharil. The penalty was converted.

CABJ were left forcing to trail the game again. Many opportunities arose but CABJ couldn’t turn them into goals. Late in the game, Affendi Amir was shown a red card for a 50/50 tackle on Sri Kenangan player. Affendi will miss two games as a result.

Match ended 2-1 in favour to Sri Kenangan. Two consecutive defeats left us with only 3 points from 3 games played. We are looking forward to notching our first competitive victory against next opponent’s Platinum Blastz.

LIGA MUNRO SETIA ALAM 2015: CABJ vs Southern FC

Final score: CABJ 1 - 3 Southern FC

Scorer: Affendi Amir - assisted by Azrul Raimie

The most anticipated match for LIGA MUNRO SETIA ALAM 2015 was between Southern FC vs Club Atletico de Bukit Jelutong. Most of the participants of this league said it would be a very tough encounter. Even the other teams which didn't participate know that the match would be very tense and nervy occasion. Statistically, based on previous meetings Southern FC seem to look as the favorites for this clash as CABJ being the first ever Munro League Champions in their debut season had suffered 2 back-to-back defeats to Southern FC.

The match that was held at Setia Alam on a lovely Sunday evening, weather was absolutely fantastic for some fast flowing football. Nevertheless, both teams couldn't play their usual speedy brand of football because of some heavy downpour. Only those die hard fans stayed until the end of the game and we would like to give a million thanks to all of them for being very supportive.

From previous meetings, we've learned that Southern's tactical game play was to sit back and hit us on the counter. They demonstrated just that during the first half of the game in this encounter. Although CABJ were the more dominative side in the first half before the heavy down pour, they could only get a breakthrough which did not count in the end as Ahmed was in an off-side position from an Ameer Aizat's pass. Southern defended really well and got the breakthrough just before halftime. Their goal came through when Jeremy led pass two defenders and crossed the ball into CABJ's penalty box which was unluckily converted by Azreen into his own goal.  Goalkeeper Ajmal was furious at the shaky defending displayed by his defenders.

Manager Amin made a few changes by bringing in Affendi Amir, Dzul Rahim, Raizo and Khairil Azhar. In the second half, to add  more sting to the CABJ attack in their desperation for an equalizer and it payed off as the equalizer came when Azrul Raimie placed a brilliant through pass which found Affendi Amir which then burst pass 2 defenders to slot the awaited equalizer sending the small pack of crowd into a frenzy. In trying to restore the lead CABJ were unlucky again as they were hit on the counter and Southern benefitted by getting a penalty as their forward was brought down in the penalty box. Penalty well struck, Southern lead 2 - 1. Again chasing the game CABJ with a no die attitude but again unlucky as it was not their day. Southern would ruin any chances of a CABJ comeback as their fast winger dribbled the backline and slotted home the icing on the cake for Southern FC.

Final score, 3-1 to Southern FC. With the defeat, CABJ will be facing Sri Kenangan FC at Setia Alam this Sunday 26th April at 3:30 p.m in their next match. This time around we won’t make silly mistakes and hope to be luckier as we will be pushing all out for the 3 points which would keep us on track to be El Campeone :)

SETIA ALAM CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2014: CABJ vs FTC Southern

Final Score: CABJ 3 - 5 FTC Southern

Scorer: 1. Own Goal (Assist by Ameer Aizat)
            2. Khairol (Assist by Affendi)
            3. Affendi (Assist by Azrul Raimie)

MOTM: 1. Ameer Aizat

We are up against FTC Southern, one of the tough teams to beat as CABJ is looking to continue the winning streak in SACL. FTC Southern was Munro Cup and League champion for the 2014 season. CABJ last lost a match against FTC Southern was in the semi-final of Munro Cup. 2-1 was the final score and Southern continued to win the cup. It is a great team, 2 Cups and 1 League champion was enough to prove that they are a worthy and serious contender.

On to the match, the first half started off with both teams eager to score an early goal so that the team gets control of the game. Possession in the early half was fairly 50/50 but the first goal came from Ameer Aizat’s cross and was tapped into the net by Southern’s own defender. An own goal by FTC Southern that gave CABJ the lead. Southern didn't wait long as they get the equalizer 5 minutes after the own goal. A simple tap in as CABJ’s left back couldn’t stop Southern right winger to cross a low ball which was easily tapped in into the net. CABJ made a few changes as they brought in Affendi to play on the right wing. CABJ's second goal came from a long pass from Ruffie, that found Affendi near the penalty box who then passed the ball to Khairol who unleashed an unstoppable shot just outside the penalty box. Southern’s goalkeeper couldn’t do nothing to stop that shot which went straight into the net. First half finished with CABJ leads by 2 goals to 1.

Second half was vital as both teams were aiming for maximum points. Early in the second half, Southern was awarded a penalty after Fizal handled the ball inside the penalty box. His claimed of being pushed by Southern striker was ignored by the referee and Southern converted the penalty perfectly. Power and placing, no chance for CABJ’s goalkeeper Wan Ajmal to stop the shot. The score was 2-2 and CABJ are struggling to get back to their form. Not long after that, Southern got their third goal after they attacked from CABJ's left side and scored another tap in. Southern were in the lead by 3-2.

CABJ were shocked after letting the 2 goals easily. CABJ then pressed up high to pressure the opponent and to get their goal. The substitution of Rashyad played a big role in CABJ’s third goal. Rashyad quickly made an impact on the right side of the pitch to beat Southern's left back and crossed the ball straight to Azrul Raimie, who then shot the ball wide off the goal and only to discover that Affendi on the far post was the first to react to tap the ball into the net. Another equalizer in the game. CABJ’s pressing game and high defensive line proved to be their downfall as Southern noticed that opportunity and they did a long pass from behind. Southern did it twice and both were rewarded with goals.

The match ended with a 5-3 scoreline. After the defeat, CABJ will look to improve on their game and win the next match. Not a good start for the 2015 calendar but CABJ will definitely bounce back like they always do. A Special mention to Ameer Aizat as he performed brilliantly on his assigned position at right back. Even though he doesn't like to play at the back, he did very well to repel Southern's attack on the right side. Stay tuned for more.

SETIA ALAM CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2014: CABJ vs Subang FC

Final score: CABJ 2 - 1 Subang FC

Goalscorer: 1. Akif (assist by Dzul)
                   2. Ikram (assist by Akif)

MOTM: 1. Akif
              2. Dzul

CABJ's match against Subang FC is a much anticipated match this week. Both teams look to get 3 points to advance in the Setia Alam Champions League. 3 points means, the team will get the top 4 spot in order to advance to the next round.

Sunday afternoon in Setia Alam was fairly good as the rain stopped just before the match started. Heavy rain before the match had caused the pitch to cover with mud and water. Wet pitch and bad condition of the field doesn't stop CABJ’s spirit to collect 3 points.

First half of the match, CABJ controlled the game perfectly. We passed the ball around and waiting for the right moment to get through Subang FC’s defenders. Besides the possession, all of Subang FC’s attacks were superbly defended by our defensive backline. First goal didn't come that late as Akif scored a tap in in front of the goal. After an unsuccessful corner kick, the ball was perfectly presented to Dzul Rahim’s feet as he volleyed the ball that went straight to Akif to tap in the first goal. Keeper had no chance to stop his shot. CABJ kept the game going and maintained the same momentum. CABJ's second goal were rewarded not long after the first goal as a long pass from Akif met Ikram to brilliantly place the ball at the lower left goal. Subang FC’s goalkeeper came out early to block Ikram but he managed to beat the goalkeeper with his blistering pace and a very cool finish.

Second half of the match commenced, with both teams continued attacking from end to end respectively. With the wet pitch and both teams going all out, flying tackles coming in. It’s dangerous for players who didn't wear their protection gear like shin pad as they might get injured with all this tackles flying in. Luckily, no serious injuries occurred. It’s becoming more of a tense game as both teams run out of steam. Subang FC managed to get a goal after a mistake from our defenders to let Subang FC winger to run freely and scored the goal.  All in all CABJ defenders did brilliantly to overcome Subang FC’s attacks.

The match ended with a win to CABJ. 2-1 the final score. Both teams showed great sportsmanship spirit as what has happened on the pitch stays on the pitch. Superb display by the boys as everyone did excellently to overcome Subang FC’s attacking. Next game is against FTC Southern.
