Pre-season: Gliders Pressured for Points - CABJ 1-1 FC Twentie

CABJ were made to wait for the possibility of a higher place in the Pre Season League after a draw against FC Twenty last Saturday. The draw still puts them as the last in the group with only 1 point.

On a breezy evening at Setia Alam, CABJ made a good start with pinpoint passes, solid defending and quick break attacks. Despite that, the game was also a little too tense for both teams due to the CABJ carrying the pressure of sustaining points for the Pre Season League.

In the 11th minute of the game Ikram Al Rasyid fired a high cross shot to Azrul Raimie who beated the offside trap and through the FC twenty goalkeeper, bringing CABJ to lead 1 - 0 in the first half.

Come second half, CABJ started off shaky. It took a couple of brilliant saves by Zaid Zainal to deny Twenty FC struggles to score but not for long, as Twenty FC scored a goal in the 65th minute before the final whistle blows. Final score CABJ – 1 FCT – 0.

“Learn to take pressure in the field. Have confident when you take control of the ball. Have confident.” CABJ Assistant Manager, Brian Nathan

CABJ's Injured Midfielder and His High Fighting Spirit

In the recent thrashful game against PIsang FC match, our very own Ungku Nazrin @ Hakim was badly injured and had to be carried out of the field then rushed to the Univesiti Malaya Hospital, PJ for immediate medical attention.

Ungku nazrin is one of CABJ’s best midfielders who has a record of countless solo efforts and scores.
The 21-year-old was injured during the 1-8 defeat by Pisang FC at Setia Alam recently in the Planetfootball Pre Season League.

The local lad , who was also one of the key figures in the CABJ learned that he had a dislocated knee and a ruptured tendon which will keep him out of action possibly for one whole year.

Disappointed, but Ungku Nazrin carried a positive vibe when he was seen last Saturday at Setia Alam supporting his team mates with his stretcher at the side of the field.

“Doctor said that I won’t be able to play for a year, but I say, one week!” commented the high spirited midfielder, when we interviewed him recently.

Warm wishes and support from friends, fans, and gliders were a heartfelt in all CABJ social medias and sites, praying and hoping that he will be back in action really soon!

Hang on there buddy!

Pre-season: Gliders Suffered Heavy Defeat - CABJ 1-8 FC Pisang

Club Atletico de Bukit Jelutong suffered a painful 8-1 defeat against FC Pisang on Sunday.

" We were threatened to see CABJ's determination n spirit. They can play. Just got to keep that spirit till the end of the game" Pisang FC coach

The first 10 minutes saw a quick start for CABJ as their attacks looked dangerous. The inexperienced team were overwhelmed by FC Pisang on a difficult evening for everyone associated with the green-and-orange half of Bukit Jelutong.

The FC Pisang started the scoring then, three goals in ten minutes shocked CABJ before they added one more before the first half ends.

This was a blow for CABJ's aspirations in their first league but, despite the flak that will come the team's way, after two games nothing should be written off.

Certainly the the constant support from the travelling fans throughout the second half suggests they have faith in ther despite this difficult, difficult evening.

CABJ has been hit hard ahead the toughest opponent in Group A. Zaid Zainal was hit by shoulder injury during the Matchweek 1 against The Avengers FC. Syamsul Hezri and Shamil Yusof were not available. Meanwhile, following that rousing victory against Alam Megah in midweek, Azrul Raimie Razi and Affendi Amir picked up a groin injury.

Three quick goals in the first half saw the descent of the Gliders when FC Pisang took control of the game. They added another one before the half time.

The Bukit Jelutong representatives came into the second half with tactical changes by the manager. A formation of 4-5-1 proved a better gameplay for CABJ but the opposing were the better team when they slotted another four goals to make it eight.

CABJ were then playing for pride and a little was restored when Zurin Adra Azhar scored the only goal with a lob ball passed the opposing goalkeeper.

With a few minutes left, Ungku Nazrin Hakim, one of the most energetic player in CABJ slipped and injured his knee. Having been played in top form during the friendly match in midweek, the midfield's withdrawal is sadly inevitable.

It was the final act of a sombre day for CABJ.

"Plenty of mistakes n fumbles. we didnt play our game and we need more time to gain exprience. Heads up gliders and we will redeem ourselves back! Hawwush!" CABJ Capt, Muizz Muci

Final Score: CABJ 1-8 FC Pisang

Friendly: CABJ 3-2 Alam Megah - Report

Videos & editing courtesy of Nina Kamalia

After losing their first league match against TAFC during the weekends, CABJ bounced back to win their friendly match against Alam Megah with a scoreline 3-2.

The first half showed that Alam Megah dominated the game when they scored the opening goal in the 18th minute with a try outside of the penalty area. The Gliders tried to equalise in the first half but failed to do so.

The assistant manager, Brian Nathan brought in Imran Mazli, Adi W. Kamal and Muhammad Wildan proved to be a successful change of tactics when they scored three goals during the second half.

Ameer Aizat scored his first goal since September when Ungku Nazrin's effort found him in the six-yard box in the 34th minute.

Another substitution was made in the 40th minute, Mohd Rahimi came on for Wildan and made a big impact as his first touch assisted Adi W. Kamal with a searching trough ball before Adi Struck his shot into the near post.

Ungku Nazrin did not miss to put him in the score sheet as his solo effort made the scoreline 3-1 before end of the second half.

Alam Megah tried to make a comeback in the third half by scoring their second goal of the match. However, failed to score an equaliser after wasting a few chances in the final minutes.

"The Guys played really well especially in the second half where they played according to the game plan. It was a good morale booster after their lost on Saturday against TAFC. A well deserved win and I am really proud of the lads" CABJ Coach, Brian Nathan

A Disastrous Venture for CABJ: Pre-Season League Report

Videos courtesy of Imran Mazli edited by Nina Kamalia

CABJ suffered their first defeat to TAFC during their opening game in the Planet Football Pre-Season Invitational League 2011. The Gliders conceded two goals but a late goal denied TAFC their clean sheet.

The first goal came early in the first half after TAFC was awarded a penalty when the forward was brought down by M Akif Sharifuddin in the penalty box. The forward managed to convert his penalty to a goal when it deflected from the outstretched hand of Zaid Zainal.

In trying to equalise the game, CABJ managed to control the pace of the game but Lady Luck was not smiling down on CABJ that day.

The second half proved to be another disastrous venture for CABJ when TAFC scored their second goal. An injury sustained by Zaid Zainal early in the second half gave TAFC their opportunity when he could not catch a crossed ball kicked from the corner. The ball found its mark who later gave it and easy tap to the back of the net.

With two goals down, the Gliders finally gave it their all at the closing minutes. Their effort was duly paid when Johan Arif Josmin's half volley scored CABJ's only goal minutes before the final whistle was blown.

“When things are not going well, you need to know how to stay calm and evaluate everything” – a quote shared by our manager Safrizal Mohd Said via Claudio Ranieri on Inter Milan’s poor start to 2011/2012 season

The next fixture in the Pre-season League will be against FC Pisang expected to be a tougher game for CABJ. The match will be held on Sunday, 13th Nov 2011, Setia Alam at 3:30 pm.

Final Score: TAFC 2-1 CABJ

Perak Trip Was a Hawuushhh Experience - Report

A week had passed after a fun and incredible trip to Perak by CABJFootball. It was their first outstation trip to together, followed by a friendly match with Kelab Kilat Malim Nawar team that brought an unforgettable memories in each of them as they reached back home to bukit Jelutong on Sunday.

It was a rainy evening as the gliders drove out from Bukit Jelutong at 8.00pm last Friday. There were a total of 25 members in 8 cars convoying to a trip to remember.

The gliders were seen more excited to have a break together than they were for the friendly game with Kelab Kilat Malim Nawar.
The Rest house at TNB Bungalow
Driving 95 KM an hour due to the heavy rain, the gliders reached its rest-house at TNB Bungalow around 10:30pm.

Saturday started with brunch followed by a team talk at 3.30pm before the friendly match at Ilsas at 5pm, which saw the Gliders slipped to 4-2 defeat after leading twice with 0-1 and 1-2 respectively.

Ungku Nazrin Hakim and Azrul Raimie Razi registered their name on the scoresheet.

Losing the match did not spoil the 'holiday mood' of Bukit Jelutong's representatives as they went to Gua Tempurung on the next day to explore the beauty of God's creation near Gopeng, Perak.

The Gliders had breakfast before their adventurous journey started as early as at 9:00 am. A 20-minutes journey from their rest-house, they reached Gua Tempurung at 10:15 am. With 24 participants went into the cave, a 3 1/2 hours adventure was such an amazing experience for the Gliders as it was their first time exploring a cave.

The rain started right before they went out but it did not stop the CABJ to go to another adventure - tubing at Sg. Jahang. It was obvious that the boys were excited when they quickly changed their attire to get the tube and enjoyed themselves.

"Twisting and turning, crashing their friends, hitting the bamboo tree, those things that happened during the last activity of the trip created  laughters.

"It showed that such activities created a strong bond between the team members and we should do it again" said one of the players, Azrul Raimie Razi.

The Gliders took their last picture in Perak before starting their journey home at 6:00 pm. They stopped at R&R Ulu Bernam for their favourite Yik Mun's pau before returning to Bukit Jelutong, which they saw three welcome banners from the supporters, many thanks to Nina Kamalia Azhar.

"Many thanks to BJRA, MPP19 and the community of Bukit Jelutong for supporting us to this trip in Perak. Eventhough we lost the game, this trip was an eye opener for all of us. It has strengthen the bonding the relation between us the members of CABJ. We have attained the objectives of this trip, but in terms of the game, we've got a long way to go. Nevertheless, this is just a beginning." said the Club President, Zurin Adra Azhar.
