Friendly match: Shah Alam FC 0-2 CABJ - Report

Fresh from their league debut, CABJ was determined to prove to themselves that they were able to win. Their opponent this time was from Section 17 & Section 18, Shah Alam. The game, held at Setia Alam was a challenging one.

During the first half of the game, both teams struggled to put their teams ahead but to no avail. CABJ was shown to be the better team of the two when they control the game. However, due to a lack of communication between team members, the Gliders could not convert any of their chances into goals.

The opposing team also put CABJ to the test when they tried to score but fortunately, their finishings were poor.

The second half showed a more unified team from the Gliders. Again, CABJ attacked relentlessly but they still could not break deadlock. Although dominants over the game was held by Bukit Jelutong, the opposing team put up a good fight by denying CABJ off their goal.

Luck finally shone down on the Gliders when finally things turned for the better. Ungku Nazrin Hakim's strike from the edge of the penalty box broke the deadlock, making the scoreline 1-0.

As confidence among players grew among the ranks, CABJ was now determined to increase the scoreline to 2-0. Came in from from the bench, Mohd Rahimi Abd Razak again proved his worth to the team when placed the ball into the back of the net, after receiving a searching ball from Azrul Raimie Razi.

Final score: Shah Alam FC 0-2 CABJ
Scorer(s): Ungku Nazrin, Mohd Rahimi
Assist(s): Azrul Raimie
Men of the Match: Ungku Nazrin, M Akif Sharifuddin

In the match to determine 3rd and 4th place, CABJ drew with UTUSAN after full time, forcing the game to be determined by penalty shootouts. When CABJ announced their car wash fundraising effort, many thought it is a bunch of kids making a mess at the Dbayu premises in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam.

The car wash continued till 6pm in evening that day and succeeded a collection of nearly RM 380.
“It is very rare to see a football team to perform this activity, all for the love of their team that they are very much passionate for. It is a really good effort by the CABJ team. I wish them luck in the game at Perak and also future games to come” said Sapiee, friend of a CABJ member who came all the way from Kajang to show his support to the club.
