Munro League Report (CABJ 4-2 RialDiva FC) : Gliders Remain on Top After Thrilling Win

The Gliders has again showed their fighting spirit to win with a comeback against RialDiva FC on Sunday at Setia Alam. The same scoreline of 4-2 was produced for a vital three points to make CABJ two points clear at the top of the table.

CABJ started their attack early in the first half when Ikram Al-Rashid could not tap the ball in from a low cross by Azrul Raimie Razi. Not long after that, a counter attack by RialDiva FC produced the opening goal for the match.

CABJ did not give up easily as they tried to find an equaliser by creating chances by chances but luck was not on their side when a shot by Azrul Raimie flew over an open goal. The Gliders then came back into the game when a fine through ball from Ungku Nazrin Hakim found M Ruffie Abd Aziz, and he scored his first goal of Munro League with a lob.

Under pressured RialDiva defenders then was caught up by mistake at the back. Ahmed Barakat did not wait for long to put on pressure and took his shot that was deflected before going into the goal. CABJ leads by 2-1 during half time.

On the second half, CABJ went into the field with confidence by having most of the time with the ball. Fresh legs came in to strengthen the squad, Ameer Aizat Abd Jalil scored form distance on the right flank widen the gap to make it 3-1.

All eyes on the referee when M Ruffie was tackled inside the box. A call for penalty was expected but the referee did not make the call. Right after that moment, RialDiva took their chance to counter attack and scored their second goal of the match.

The Gliders felt under pressure but they managed to control the game and the final goal came when Ameer Aizat's cross found M Rahimi Razak to slot the ball home with his knee. Rahimi has scored 8 goals in 8 matches so far this year.

Water Station

Marshal/Direction Sign

• There will either be Marshals or Directional Signs placed at critical junctions to guide you along the right route

Waste/Rubbish Disposal/Recycle

• Please dispose all waste into the bins and/or trash bags and do not litter along the route or in the part
• Recycle bins will be available at event site

Wet/Severe Weather

• In the event of wet/severe weather with lightning BEFORE the start, the Organiser will delay the start of the event until the weather becomes better.  If the weather remains severe for an extended period of time, the Organiser will cancel the event without any refund of your registration fee

• In the event of wet/severe weather with lightning DURING the event, please take shelter until the weather clears.  Continue when the weather turns for the better.  However, if the weather remains severe for an extended period of time, the Organiser will stop the event.  This is for your personal safety

Munro Report (P9 FC 2-4 CABJ): Gliders Showed Fighting Spirit

CABJ started the season with confidence on Sunday at Setia Alam Football Field. The Gliders showed their fighting spirit after trailing 1-0 early in the first half by winning the match with a scoreline 4-2. 

P9 FC scored early in the first half after CABJ's offside trap was beaten by the forward to take P9 on the lead. CABJ then responded quickly by controlling the game but the attacking side could not penetrate the opponent's side.

Ahmed Barakat then scored the equaliser from close range after receiving a through ball from Imran Mazli. Not long after that, Billy Lee scored his first goal for the club when his cross flew over the goalkeeper from the right flank. The score remained 2-1 at half time.

Going into the second half, Ikram Al-Rashid pressured P9's midfield and won the ball but he was fouled just before he was about to pull the trigger. However, the free kick was well blocked by the wall. Despite the heavy rain, both teams did not give up easily to ensure they got their first win on the opening match of the season. 

P9 FC did not wait long after that to counter attack and got their first corner kick in the second half. A corner kick that was half cleared by CABJ's center back found P9's player. He took the shot but it was saved by Wan Ajmal. On the rebound poor challenge from CABJ's defenders caused a goal when the forward head the ball into the net from close range.

The Gliders tried to find a winning goal but they could not find a breakthrough until an indirect free kick inside the penalty box was awarded to CABJ. M Rahimi Razak scored with a low shot into the bottom corner to give CABJ the lead.

Before the final whistle was blown, Rahimi once again put his name on the scoresheet. A through pass by Dzul Rahim caught Azrul Raimie Razi. He then cross the ball, finding Rahimi in front of the goal before Rahimi tapped the ball in to seal the win.
