P9 FC scored early in the first half after CABJ's offside trap was beaten by the forward to take P9 on the lead. CABJ then responded quickly by controlling the game but the attacking side could not penetrate the opponent's side.
Ahmed Barakat then scored the equaliser from close range after receiving a through ball from Imran Mazli. Not long after that, Billy Lee scored his first goal for the club when his cross flew over the goalkeeper from the right flank. The score remained 2-1 at half time.
Going into the second half, Ikram Al-Rashid pressured P9's midfield and won the ball but he was fouled just before he was about to pull the trigger. However, the free kick was well blocked by the wall. Despite the heavy rain, both teams did not give up easily to ensure they got their first win on the opening match of the season.
P9 FC did not wait long after that to counter attack and got their first corner kick in the second half. A corner kick that was half cleared by CABJ's center back found P9's player. He took the shot but it was saved by Wan Ajmal. On the rebound poor challenge from CABJ's defenders caused a goal when the forward head the ball into the net from close range.
The Gliders tried to find a winning goal but they could not find a breakthrough until an indirect free kick inside the penalty box was awarded to CABJ. M Rahimi Razak scored with a low shot into the bottom corner to give CABJ the lead.
Before the final whistle was blown, Rahimi once again put his name on the scoresheet. A through pass by Dzul Rahim caught Azrul Raimie Razi. He then cross the ball, finding Rahimi in front of the goal before Rahimi tapped the ball in to seal the win.
